The Recreational Program was founded in 1977 and  is the foundation of SPORTING Blue Valley Soccer Club.   It remains SBV's largest program and is home to thousands of youth soccer players ranging in age from 4 to 17.  

Teams are formed for Pre-K through High School aged players.  With the exception of the Pre-K teams, most teams are originally formed by area schools – so that teammates on the field may also be friends at school. 

The Pre-K through 2nd grade teams play their games through a SPORTING Blue Valley in-house league – most games being played at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex. The 3rd grade through 12th grade teams play their games through the Heartland Soccer Association League – which is a league comprised of many area soccer clubs. These games will be played at  various  field locations.

Practices for Recreational teams are assigned at various locations – including area school district fields, area parks, as well as the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex fields.

Registration for the Spring 2023 Recreational Program opens November 1st. The registration fee is $95.  The deadline for on-time registration is midnight on December 12th.  After the deadline there is a $15 late fee.

To guarantee placement on your team from the spring 2022 season you should register as soon as possible.

All players who were registered for a Fall 2022 team AND who register between November 1 and December 12th will be guaranteed placement on their teams from the fall 2022 season.*

*Returning players entering kindergarten will not be guaranteed placement with their previous team. Teams are formed by school whenever possible starting in kindergarten.

Those players who did not play on a SPORTING BV recreational team last spring should register as early as possible and may request to play with a certain team or certain players. Requests are not guaranteed but considered whenever possible.
