SPORTING Futures is the youth player’s initial opportunity to venture into the world of competitive soccer. SBV Futures is for that player who has the desire to further develop their existing skills in a more ambitious environment. Core soccer fundamentals are taught, players are challenged and creative play is encouraged. Each week, an area of concentration is the focus and that week’s game  will highlight this new skill. The program includes fall, winter and spring sessions coached by an experienced soccer professional. A player may choose to play on their recreational team while also participating with SBV Futures or they may choose only to participate in the SBV Futures program. Practices and games for SBV Futures do not conflict with schedules for SBV Recreational teams, the Skills Club program or holiday weekends.

All scheduled games are played on weekends, but not held on holiday weekends.

SPORTING Futures is for Kindergarten and 1st grade players.

SPORTING Futures closely models a true competitive soccer schedule for practices and games. Fall (Aug/Sept/Oct) and spring (Mar/Apr/May) outdoor seasons include one practice per week and 8 scheduled weekend games. During the winter (Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb) indoor season, skill development continues through Futsal training with one weekend session per week for 12 scheduled weekends that includes approximately 20 minutes of technical training directly followed by a Futsal game. 

The Fall & Spring seasons are held at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex – Training Facility of SPORTING Blue Valley and some games may be played at a local BVSD turf field.

The Winter Weekend sessions are held in the gymnasium of a local school.

SBV Futures fees for 2023-24 total $725 and are broken down as follows:

     $125 Uniform Fee (includes a navy and light blue game jersey, 2 pair black shorts, 2 pair black socks, a red practice shirt, a size #3 ball and sackpack)

     $150 Coaching Fees ($50/mo for Nov/Dec, Jan & Feb)
