SPORTING Juniors is the youth player’s advanced opportunity to venture into the world of competitive soccer. SBV Juniors is for that player who has the desire to further develop their existing skills along with learning the tactical side of the game.  Players will learn their role and have positional awareness on the field.  Players will gain the ability to make good decisions on the ball while under pressure from their opponent in a more competitive environment.  All SBV Juniors games will be played 5v5 including a goalie.  The program includes fall, winter and spring sessions coached by an experienced soccer professional. A player may choose to play on their recreational team while also participating with SBV Juniors or they may choose only to participate in the SBV Juniors program. SBV Juniors tries to avoid any conflicts with SBV recreational and SBV Skills Club program schedules.

All scheduled games are played on weekends, but not held on holiday weekends.

SPORTING Juniors is for 2nd - 3rd Grade players.

SPORTING Juniors closely models a true competitive soccer schedule for practices and games. Fall (Aug/Sept/Oct) and spring (Mar/Apr/May) outdoor seasons include one practice per week and 8 scheduled weekend games. During the winter (Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb) indoor season, skill development continues through Futsal training with one Sunday session per week for 12 scheduled weekends that includes a technical training warm up directly followed by a Futsal game. 

The Fall & Spring sessions are held at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex – Training Facility of SPORTING Blue Valley and some games may be played at a local BVSC turf field.

The Winter Weekend sessions are held in the gymnasium of a local school.

SBV Juniors fees for 2023-24 total $725 and are broken down as follows:

     $125 Uniform Fee (includes a navy and light blue game jersey, 2 pair black shorts, 2 pair black socks, a red practice shirt, a size #3 ball and sackpack)

     $150 Coaching Fees ($50/mo for Nov/Dec, Jan & Feb)

Spring Fees collected January 31, 2023

     $150 Coaching Fees ($50/mo for March, April, May)
